A day in the life
She avoided the scale again this morning. The mirror too. There may have been some smeared mascara underneath her eyes from silently crying herself to sleep. How had she let it get so bad, she wondered.
She started the day late, skipping a workout, again, and cursing at the jeans that were getting harder to zip and button. She didn't want to get the next size up. She promised herself she would workout after work.
She arrived at work, school actually, and she didn't have time to walk the halls. She was hungry from skipping breakfast so she grabbed a donut from the teachers lounge. It wasn't the healthiest choice but it would tide her over to lunch.
After work she was exhausted again. She hit the drive-thru or the hot-n-ready pizza place for the second time that week. She knew she wasn't going to work out, she was too tired. And she felt sad about nighttime and her partner with whom she had not been intimate in months.
She was out of breath doing the simplest things. She was moody and irritable. She had stopped taking care of herself and needed a reboot. She was tired of the latest diets that never seem to work long-term. How would she ever be fit enough to travel if she can't even go up the stairs without having to catch her breath?! And her doctor had warned her about a few potential issues if she didn't take action soon. SHE WANTED TO FEEL LIKE HERSELF AGAIN!
